Our first and last three-person vacation

As we left the beach yesterday, David mentioned this weekend was the first time the three of us took a trip just for fun and not to visit family (which is, of course, fun, too).

With the baby due in seven weeks (!!), it will also probably be the last time the three of us do this.




We had a great time, but Delia wasn't too fond of the beach.




The waves were too rough for her...




...and the sand was too dirty. As soon as she touched the beach, she said she wanted to take a shower.

Beautiful surprise in today's school bag

Delia came home from "camp" last week with a hand-painted picture frame for her Daddy for father's day. Today, the teacher sent home a photo to go in the frame.

My first two thoughts when I saw this picture: "I'm so glad she was wearing something cute," and "How did we create this gorgeous child?"

Grandma and Bubbe come through with more birthday photos

Thankfully, someone else was taking some pictures during Delia's birthday weekend!





It was a hot couple of days. Delia woke up from this nap sweaty but happy.





At dinner the night before her party, Delia discovered corn on the cob. She ate her weight in the stuff, and now she wants corn on the cob, green beans on the cob, carrots on the cob, etc.








Cousin Marysa helped Delia open her presents.




Grandma and Grandpa got Delia a bicycle and she LOVES it.

Mathilde was the real star of the weekend. Delia is still asking where her doggie is.




I had originally planned to make a cake for the party. I'm glad we abandoned that plan. Hooray for bakery cakes!

Party, party, party

Delia enjoyed her second birthday party last weekend. I didn't take as many pictures as I had hoped to, but here are a few. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a fun day.

Snuggle

I think this is one of my new favorite pictures of Delia. Bubbe took it on the way to the airport Monday. It hit 90+ degrees that day, but the weather didn't stop Delia from snuggling up with her hippo blanket. (See, Uncle Jason, she loves it!)
